WealthVest Awards $500 Scholarship to Montana State University Sales Competition Winner

WealthVest, a Bozeman-based financial services marketing and distribution firm, recently partnered with the American Marketing Association at Montana State University to sponsor the annual sales week and award a $500 travel scholarship to Preslie Niel for the 2025 AMA International Collegiate Conference in New Orleans, Louisiana.

By attending the conference, Niel and their fellow MSU students will have the opportunity to connect with potential employers, compete against other college students, and learn from influential speakers in the marketing field. WealthVest awarded the scholarship to Niel following their selection by a panel of judges as the winner of the AMA chapter's annual sales competition, held during the chapter's annual sales week, January 27 - 31.

"We want to congratulate Preslie on a fantastic sales presentation," said Tracie Gibbons, vice president of human resources and talent development at WealthVest. "WealthVest believes opportunities like the perfect pitch and sales competition are invaluable for students to foster growth, network and bridge the gap between academic achievement and real-world success. We're always proud to add value to a student's educational experience and show our support for the next generation of leaders in the financial services industry through events like this and our continued partnership with Montana State University's AMA Chapter."

In addition to awarding the travel scholarship, WealthVest's employees participated in a sales panel hosted by the AMA chapter about the ins and outs of working in sales. They also helped judge the chapter's perfect pitch competition and sat on a panel of judges for the annual sales competition.

Representatives from WealthVest had the following to say about the competitions:

"I was so impressed with the turnout and the quality of presentation put forth in the student's sales pitches," said Alex Soltero, internal wholesaler at WealthVest. "There was a huge range of ability and experience, and I feel very privileged to have had a front-row seat to the show. Thank you all for your hard work."

"My favorite part of the event was seeing how each student interpreted the prompt through the lens of their unique backgrounds and experiences," said Lauren Wachtell, internal wholesaler at WealthVest. "They did a great job showcasing their personalities and simultaneously highlighting their professional qualifications."

"These students really went above and beyond in showcasing their capabilities," said Ashley Rogers-Klompien, human resources generalist at WealthVest. "It is not an easy thing to practice and pitch to a room full of judges, and to pitch with a camera staring directly at you on top of it! The level of skill shown throughout AMA sales week was incredibly impressive. Every student should be proud of their achievements this week."
