Demonstrating their compassion for animals, a group of WealthVest employees volunteered to assist the Heart of the Valley Animal Shelter with some much-needed chores and projects this June.

As part of their volunteer time, employees spent an afternoon washing and sanitizing dozens of kennels to ensure the shelter’s animals have a clean and healthy place to stay. They also helped fill in gopher holes with dirt in the shelter’s animal exercise area. The completion of these projects will assist the non-profit in caring for the nearly 3,900 cats and dogs that come through their facility every year.

“Heart of the Valley is a wonderful organization, who does a lot of great work for lost and abandoned animals in our community,” said Megan Todd, a volunteer from WealthVest. “I loved getting to spend some quality time with my coworkers doing one of the things I love most, helping animals. Honestly, I had to do everything in my power to not take every single one of the animals home.”

The animal shelter has been serving communities in the Gallatin and Madison River Valleys, including Bozeman, Belgrade, Manhattan, Three Forks, Big Sky, and West Yellowstone, for more than 45 years. In addition to sheltering lost and surrendered pets, they also provide pet adoption, canine training classes, food assistance, educational programming, and much more.
