WealthVest Employees Work To Combat Food Insecurity
During their Annual Employee Food Drive Competition this November, WealthVest’s employees collected and donated more than 1,600 pounds of food to the Gallatin Valley Food Bank. The donation will support the nonprofit’s mission to improve food security in the community, especially during the holiday season.
An essential service in Southwest Montana, the Gallatin Valley Food Bank provides food assistance to 1,160 households on average, or roughly 3,124 individuals, in the Bozeman and Belgrade communities, according to their website. Additionally, the nonprofit supplies food to several outlying communities through their two satellite food banks in Three Forks and Big Sky, as well as a variety of nonprofit partners and housing sites throughout the region.
During the competition, WealthVest’s sales team once again squared off against the formidable operations team in a points-based food drive competition, where every donated item is assigned a pre-determined point value. Items donated from the Gallatin Valley Food Bank’s Wish List, which included fresh produce, granola bars, canned tomato products, and dried beans, received the most points.
Despite a valiant effort, the sales team once again fell to reigning food drive champions, the operations team, which included team members from the operations, marketing, accounting, human resources and IT departments.
The Gallatin Valley Food Bank is currently accepting donations at their location on Bond Street off of North Rouse in Bozeman, Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. View the nonprofit’s full wish list at www.gallatinvalleyfoodbank.org.
